Interview with Mord Fuzztang

As I was still getting to know the music scene in Switzerland in 2022, I was in attendance for the Mord Fuzztang concert (organised by Kombinat) at Club Variété in Zurich and was instantly a big fan of their style, mixing krautrock and psychedelic rock, and their live performance.

After having released their first EP, Live at G5, the band would go on to put out their first album, Air Gélatine, in November of last year. The album, which was produced by Remo Agovic, is not only a solid album from start to finish but would also go on to win the gds.fm jury prize for album of 2024.

In this interview, Mord Fuzztang replies to my questions about how the album was made and their reaction to winning the award.

Interview with Doom! Noo Yelbek

In January 2025, Doom! Noo Yelbek released their second EP, The Burden Left by The Seven Snakes, and celebrated its release at Pont-Rouge in Monthey.

The band draws upon a wide range of musical influences (and the absurd) to create their own unique neo-psychedelic style of music.

In this interview, David Roussel, one of the band’s two guitarists tells us about the band’s history including a record release party in a humid cellar where the audience couldn’t open the noisy door and the filming of the music video of one of my favourite songs over the last few months, Kilimanjaro.

Interview with Kombinat

The fourth annual Kombinat Festival takes place this weekend on Saturday 15th March with 18 bands from across Switzerland performing at six different venues on and around the Langstrasse in Zurich. It is definitely one of my highlights of the year!

Having been around since 2021 and beginning by organising concerts across Zurich, the association has its finger on the pulse of the Swiss music scene bringing together an eclectic line-up of bands and musicians for the festivals.

As part of the build-up to this year’s festival, I interviewed Kombinat to find out more about the association, their history and their festivals.

Interview with High on the Sound (pt. 1)

Shortly having creating Reverb Dream, I came across High on the Sound - a printed magazine providing a platform to bands across the whole of Switzerland. Every time a new edition is printed, a concert is organised to celebrate its release.

The ninth edition of the magazine will be published on Friday 7th March with a concert at Südpol in Lucerne featuring performances from oze and STRUKTURSTRUKTUR.

I interviewed the team behind the magazine (Mario Scialdone and Lena Eberhard) to find out more about High on the Sound. In the first part of this series, we talk about how High on the Sound started and the magazine itself.

Interview with Orso

In November 2024, the Lausanne-based band, Orso served up the third course of their Italian gastronomic-themed records with Caffè.

Although, the concepts to the albums are playful, Orso’s instrumental songs are brooding and captivating at the same time, pulling the listener in and keeping their attention.

For the first interview of 2025, Raul, one of the three guitarists, and Thomas, the drummer, tell me more about the band’s history, releases and their passion about coffee.

Interview with Nostalgie Plage

Nostalgie Plage’s (English translation: nostalgia beach) unique sound is the result of five musicians, who have been very active in the music scene in Fribourg, wanting to form a collaborative project and mix their diverse influences to create their own genre which they jokingly call, “post-Rock, bossa nova, mathcore, dance punk”.

Drummer, Valentin Descloux, tells us more about the band’s origins, the story behind their excellent album, Plaisirs et Discipline, and how they have over 200 song names for songs which don’t exist yet.
